Content moderation is the process of screening and monitoring user-generated content based on the platform’s Terms of Service and guidelines. The content moderator will determine if the content is appropriate to be published or not.

Content moderators are portrayed negatively and even demonized by talking heads (in the media and social media as well) but they are necessary in order to protect the end-users of a platform. They are responsible for analyzing user profiles, videos and other content.
